I have no idea what i'm doing, I guess this is growing up?
So I have been trying to start my blog for well over a year now and let me just say it's tough! I think I finally have enough motivation to truly put it all together now, so here goes nothing!
I wanted this blog to be my personal creative outlet that replaces the once journal I used to write in all the time. A place I can share my new obsessions, thoughts, adventures, and my own life lessons/experiences. My theme is based off "growing up" because let me just say it's been one heck of a ride! I'm sure everyone can relate that #adulting is not that easy. As I approach the looming age of 25 (yay I can finally rent a car for cheap guys) I thought this was as good of a time as any to begin. I mean I have a quarter of a lifetime under my belt already...so I totally know what i'm doing ;) jk but it's been real and I have learned a lot about myself.
Honestly I wanted to start this journey because of the blogging communities i've come across. I've discovered so many different personalities on the world wide web, but all are so inspirational. I think it's amazing that we live in a world where a complete stranger can build an entire platform that makes you feel connected in a safe space of like minded individuals. I've learned a lot from food bloggers on how to cook (because I really can't), from fashion bloggers on trend pieces and how to make your style make you feel your best + hair/make-up inspo, science-y stuff from nutrition practitioners who started food & fitness blogs, and more! If I can build a community and a safe space for anyone through this adventure that'd be a blessing, but for now it's honestly just something fun for me and I hope you enjoy reading along.
Currently, I am FINALLY feeling quite settled in the Bay area since last February when I moved out here. It's been so much fun exploring San Francisco, meeting new people, and just finding my niche. Moving to a new city really teaches you how to get out of your comfort zone a little, because you just have to if you want to get anywhere. So as this blogging journey continues you'll hear more about my adventures out here and the amazing people I call friends as well. So cheers! Here it goes... growing up with Shay :)
